Adidas, in partnership with Parley for the Oceans, an organization dedicated to raising awareness about the state of the world’s oceans, worked with industrial designer Alexander Taylor to create this prototype sneaker. Its upper is made entirely of thread created from reclaimed and recycled plastic ocean waste—including filaments from illegal deep-sea gill nets collected off the coast of West Africa—highlighting the goal of the Ocean Plastic Program: to end plastic pollution of the oceans. The prototype also features the full-length Boost midsole.
