adidas x Cey Adams Ali Classic

New York graffiti writer, graphic designer, and artist Cey Adams was already famous for his work at Def Jam designing albums for hip-hop artists, including Run—DMC, Beastie Boys, and Jay-Z, when Adidas approached him to create a shoe commemorating “The Greatest,” Muhammad Ali. The Ali Values Project enlisted other art world heavy hitters, such as Shepard Fairey and Eric Bailey, to design shoes and apparel reflecting Muhammad Ali’s core values: respect, confidence, dedication, conviction, spirituality and giving. Adams used historic images of the heavyweight champion in his prime to create a graphic capsule collection around the idea of “confidence.”
