Bata Sprinting shoe

Bata mass-produced canvas sneakers in the 1930s and was one of the world’s largest exporters of shoes. In addition to conventional sneakers, the company also made performance running shoes, including this pair, which features leather uppers and leather soles with spikes for traction. The instep strap was designed to ensure the shoes stayed on the sprinter’s feet. Lightweight running shoes of man-made materials would not be produced until after World War II.
