This GE, Android Homme, JackThreads collaboration celebrates the forty-fifth anniversary of Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins, and Buzz Aldrin’s moon landing. The three brands collaborated to make one hundred pairs of moon boot-inspired sneakers utilizing innovative GE materials. GE’s silicone rubber was an integral part of the original NASA boots and, in celebration of the power of innovative materials, the company allowed Android Homme to use GE-innovated stabilized carbon fiber, hydrophobic coating, 3M Scotchlite reflective material, and thermoplastic rubber in this sneaker. The shoe was released on July 20 at 4:18 p.m., the exact time of the landing of the lunar module in 1969, and sold for $196.90 to honor the date.
