Formula 1 race cars and race car driving shoes provided the inspiration for the Air Jordan XVIII. Jordan Brand’s Tate Kuerbis sought to create a sleek and elegant sneaker, incorporating aspects of Italian dress shoes by placing the stitching along the outsole. Rendered in black suede, the sneaker even came with a brush and towel for cleaning. Michael Jordan wore the XVIII during his final season with the NBA.
