Designed by Eric Avar (Nike’s Vice President of Design Innovation), the Foamposite was the first sneaker in which the entire upper was fabricated from one piece of synthetic molded foam. The sculptural quality of the shoe made the Foamposite a classic among both basketball players and sneaker collectors. The shoe was closely associated with Orlando Magic point guard Penny Hardaway and originally came in only one color, Dark Neon Royal Blue.
